I am amazed that 1) you posted this advice and 2) that there are so many people agreeing with you that some cheating is acceptable. I'm not pretending that every college class is worth your time - some are virtually useless. But cheating to any degree in any class not only cheats you out learning the information, but establishes a pattern of dishonesty that'll stick with you throughout your life. You think getting kicked out of college sucks? Try getting fired for lying to your boss (or worse your shareholders) when you have a mortgage to pay and a family to feed. It may sound dramatic but THIS is the real unfiltered advice. As a business owner, I can tell you honesty is a characteristic that will serve you well throughout your life and can ruin your life if you choose to ignore it. You may be lying to yourself now about knowing the answers today but where does that lead you? Will you lie to a potential employer about your experience? Maybe lie to your boss about your work? What does this say about your work ethic and the way you view yourself? You have a lot of good advice on your site - whether you realize it or not, you are influencing a lot of people. Please think about the example you are setting by condoning lying. Wow. I also finished in half the time of everyone else, and had to wait 15 minutes before turning it in so it didn't look obvious that I was pseudo-cheating. I've also written 10 page research papers using facts from books and didn't bother keeping track of where they came from (turned a 3 month paper into a 3 day one). I also made up or morphed a bunch of quotes to better fit my arguments. On my biblio page I just randomly picked pages from my books and said quotes came from there...got a 92/100. And of course I do pretty much all my homework from instructor's solutions manuals whenever available. Why should I bother spending 10 hours doing an assignment that I'll forget everything about by the time the exam comes around? Screw it, I'll just get it done in an hour with the solutions and cram before the test.
